100 years later, Paris is buzzing with excitement. The capital is preparing to host the world's largest event. From July 26 to August 11, the best athletes on the planet will compete on the world's most beautiful playing field: Paris. An Olympiad in Paris couldn't be like any other. The Olympic Games Organizing Committee has gone big, very big, for the 33rd Olympiad, starting with the opening ceremony. It won't be held in a stadium as tradition dictates, but on the Seine! A bold move for a unique and already historic opening ceremony. National delegations will sail from East to West, in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators lined along the Seine, near the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, the Palais de la Cité, and Notre-Dame. The Olympic spirit will enter through the grand entrance, right in the heart of the city, to honor Paris! The 6 km route of the 160 boats will go from the Pont d'Austerlitz to the Pont d'Iéna for a stunning finale at the Trocadéro.

Inspired by the World Expos that have shaped Paris, many Olympic venues will be built or set up in iconic locations in the heart of the City of Light. Place de la Concorde will host skateboarding, BMX freestyle, breaking, and 3X3 basketball events; the Eiffel Tower stadium will see national beach volleyball teams compete; the Seine and its banks will be the playground for triathletes; the Grand Palais will be the site for judo and taekwondo; the Esplanade des Invalides will host archery, and the Château de Versailles will be the venue for equestrian events. Everything is designed to offer athletes, spectators, and TV viewers a unique Olympic experience! Symbolic images that will forever mark the history of the Olympics and Paris.
