Art and culture lovers are in for a treat in Paris in 2022 with fabulous exhibitions in the city's impressive museums and galleries. We've rounded up 5 of the best art exhibitions in Paris this spring and summer.

EXHIBITION: PICASSO-RODIN

Musée national Picasso-Paris

This exciting exhibition brings together two stars of the art world, the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso and the French sculptor Auguste Rodin, both of whom produced much of their best work in Paris. Presented jointly by the Musée national Picasso-Paris in the Marais and the Musée Rodin, Picasso-Rodin presents key pieces in parallel in each gallery, highlighting unexpected links in their influential creative paths. While the exhibition at the Musée Rodin has unfortunately come to an end, that at the Musée Picasso has been extended until March. 5 rue de Thorigny, 75003

THE MOROZOV COLLECTION. ICONS OF MODERN ART

Louis Vuitton Foundation

One of this year's flagship exhibitions in Paris, The Morozov Collection. Icons of Modern Art at the Fondation Louis Vuitton presents 200 masterpieces of impressionist and modern art from the collection of brothers Mikhail and Ivan Morozov. This is the first time it has travelled outside Russia. Expect to see French works by Manet, Rodin, Monet, Pissarro, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir, Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Bonnard and Matisse, as well as Russian talents such as Malevich, spanning the late 19th and early 20th centuries. 8 avenue du Mahatma Gandhi, 75016

MARCEL PROUST, A PARISIAN NOVEL

Musée Carnavalet - History of Paris

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous French writer, the exhibition Marcel Proust, un roman parisien is being held at the Musée Carnavalet in the Marais district of Paris. It explores the Parisian world of Proust (1871-1922), who was born and died here, and the importance of the city in his best-selling novels. Exhibits include paintings, sculptures, photographs, manuscripts, clothes, furniture and accessories, as well as a reconstruction of his bedroom. 23 rue de Sévigné, 75003

THIERRY MUGLER, COUTURISSIME

Museum of Decorative Arts

French fashion designer Thierry Mugler died in January, which makes this retrospective at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs particularly moving. It celebrates the creativity of this radical talent, who launched his fashion house in the 70s and was synonymous with theatrical 80s silhouettes and powerful femininity. Ready-to-wear, haute couture, stage costumes, photos, perfumes, catwalk shows, music videos and projections tell the story of her art and collaborations. A tribute is also being paid to the late designer Alber Elbaz at the Palais Galliera (from 5 March to 10 July 2022). 107 rue de Rivoli, 75001

EDMUND DE WAAL, LETTERS TO CAMONDO

Nissim de Camondo Museum

Lovers of contemporary ceramics and sculpture will appreciate this touching and subtle exhibition by British craftsman Edmund de Waal at the Musée Nissim de Camondo, one of Paris's best-kept secrets. Edmund de Waal, Letters to Camondo is a tribute to this remarkable house museum and the Jewish family who owned it. The son of art collector Moïse de Camondo, Nissim, was killed in the First World War; his daughter and her family later died in Auschwitz. Vases, letters and benches by de Waal dot the rooms and courtyard, between porcelain, gold, oak and stone, expressing this trauma and loss. 63 rue de Monceau, 75008
