Private Guided Tour of the Château de Fontainebleau

Visit the chateau of fontainebleau

What can we expect?

Like the Château du Louvre, the Château de Fontainebleau was built in the 12th century, before becoming the home of the kings of France who shaped it in turn. The only château to have been inhabited by all the sovereigns of France, from the 12th to the 19th century, it comprises 1,500 rooms, many of whose furnishings have been preserved. If Versailles is associated with the figure of Louis XIV, Fontainebleau is associated with that of Francis I. At the beginning of the 16th century, the king invited prestigious Italian artists to carry out a number of Renaissance-style renovations. So much so that today the château symbolises what is known as the "French Renaissance". Once you've learned all about the life of the court at Fontainebleau from your tour guide, you'll be able to enjoy its gardens and certainly its famous forest. The same forest that inspired the painters of the Barbizon school in the first half of the 19th century. A private, tailor-made visit - to suit your expectations - so you don't miss a thing!
