Are you planning a quick trip to the capital and don't know where to start in this huge city? Are you between two connections and have a bit of time, but not too much? Then you've come to the right place!
The Parisi Tour team has put together a short list of ideas, things to do and places to go. to visit for those of you on a tight schedule!
Breakfast.
That's right! And don't forget that we're in France, and that we don't mess around with traditions here! Speaking of traditions... we suggest you start the day with a coffee and a fresh baguette, the kind only our bakers know how to make! For a sweet treat, we'll add a croissant or a pain au chocolat (sorry for our southern friends, but there's no such thing as a chocolatine in Paris!)
Here, you're spoilt for choice, depending on your location and preferences, between breakfast in a typical Parisian brasserie or takeaway from a boulangerie.
A stroll along the banks of the Seine.
To digest these sweet treats, we now suggest a stroll along the banks of the Seine, where you can admire the scenery and many of Paris's monuments at the same time. Here again, there are several options.
On the Left Bank, along the 13th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 15th arrondissements, or on the Right Bank, along the 12th, 4th, 1st, 8th and 16th arrondissements. Of course, many bridges also bridge the gap between the two banks of Paris, and you also have L'île Saint-Louis and L'île de la Cité to explore, via Notre Dame Cathedral.
A little further towards the 15th arrondissement, via the Alexandre III bridge, you'll have an unbeatable view of the Eiffel Tower.
Lunch at a must-see venue.
For your lunch break, we'll take you to one of the capital's most emblematic places. Whether you prefer an old-fashioned brasserie in the heights of Montmartre, a gourmet restaurant on the banks of the Trocadero or a quick meal to take along on your walk,
Paris is full of great places to have lunch.
Don't hesitate to ask the locals where the good addresses and nuggets that don't appear in the guidebooks are hidden. Our best advice is to avoid crowded streets and tourist squares, restaurants with endless menus translated into twenty-four languages and, of course, to avoid touts who will try to persuade you to go to places that are not very tasty.
Good Parisian restaurants don't need advertising to fill up, so keep your ears open and dare to take to the back streets!
A bit of relaxation and culture.
Why not take advantage of your afternoon to visit a museum, monument or exhibition that interests you? If you need to, you can find the list of temporary exhibitions on the Paris Tourist Office website. Visit LouvreFrom the Panthéon to the Musée de l'Homme and the George Pompidou Centre, Paris is THE city where the choice of cultural activities is almost limitless.
If you're more interested in relaxing or taking your mind off things, opt for a play, a one-man show, a stand-up session or, quite simply, a good film at the cinema!
There's something for every taste, age and budget.
There are usually parks and gardens not far from the museums, where you can stroll to your heart's content and, weather permitting, stop for a hot drink in one of the semi-reclining chairs provided. In Paris, every ray of sunshine is sacred.
An evening on the heights.
When you think of Paris, you inevitably think of its rooftops. Those grey tiles full of charm and history, but also and above all, the lights that illuminate the city once the sun goes down. night fall. So for dinner, what better way to enjoy a special, timeless moment than to take to the skies.
Here's a list of restaurants with breathtaking views:
As these restaurants are very popular, we advise you to book your table in advance, and to dress for the occasion.
Another possibility, and not the least, is to dine aboard a bateau-mouche, during a Seine Cruise. The menus are designed and prepared on site by a chef, and the atmosphere could not be more romantic. A guaranteed hit!
